Thank you note – KEDEA

We would like to thank everyone from the bottom of our heart, who attended the technical presentation of our nano-satellite on March 6 at KEDEA and honored us with their presence and their good mood. For those who did not manage to be with us, we decided to upload our Read more…

We are Open-Source!

Our CubeSat’s code for On-Board Computer is Open-Source! What is open Source? Open source is a term denoting that a product includes permission to use its source code, design documents, or content. So, following the path of previous CubeSat teams, we have all our code uploaded on GitHub! That way we want to Read more…

CubeSat – Meet the Electrical Power Subsystem

What is Energy? It is both a simple and complex question to any person among the humankind. So, why don’t we go back in time and ask a man whose work is acknowledged from every scientist in the world. When lecturing about conservation of energy in the 1960s, Richard Feynman Read more…

CubeSat – Meet the ADCS Sub-team

AcubeSAT is ready to leave the ISS launcher, and start its long journey around earth. There it goes… oh no, a malfunction of the launcher made the cubesat rotate with extremely high speed! Is the AcubeSAT alone and doomed now? Is this the end of its mission? No. ADCS is Read more…

CubeSat – Meet the Science Unit

Can humanity develop sustainable and autonomous colonies beyond Earth? Will we ever traverse the interstellar medium with the same trivial demeanor as we do the Atlantic ocean nowadays? Landing on the moon as part of the Apollo program sparked our imagination and enthusiasm about the possibility of becoming an interplanetary Read more…

CubeSat – Meet the Structural and Thermal Subsystem

Structural Every mechanical engineer responsible for the design of the structural frame of a satellite must ensure its ability to withstand the entirety of the loads imposed on it throughout the course of the mission. What exactly do we mean though when we refer to loads? Although there is no Read more…

CubeSat – Meet the OBC Subsystem

Would you ever leave your computer on and unattended for an entire week? How about for 8 months, while you are 400km away? Even though electronic devices at home won’t remain on for so long, a satellite will have to endure the loneliness of space for a really long time Read more…

CubeSat – Meet the Systems Engineering

During the design and testing process of any system, mistakes and shortcomings are to be expected. However, if these problems are not addressed and fixed before the delivery of the system, there is a high chance for a complete failure of the system which can even result to the loss Read more…

CubeSat – Meet the Communications Subsystem

On October 4, 1957, the first ever artificial satellite in history, Sputnik 1, was launched and set to orbit, transmitting radio waves which contained information on the ionosphere’s electron density. Sputnik 1 signal From those seemingly simple beacons of 1957, the evolution of space missions has gifted us with photos Read more…

CubeSat – Meet the Trajectory Subsystem

Performing a mission in space without question requires a rocket and a satellite. Using the rocket, the satellite is placed into orbit around our planet and remains in space until the mission is performed or the satellite reenters the atmosphere. When that, happens it disintegrates by the high temperatures reached Read more…

ASAT-Rocketry, having fully adapted to the new lockdown conditions in Greece due to COVID-19, continues online the conduction of R&Ds, the designing process of the new High Power Rocket and its planning for the competition of Spaceport America Cup 2021. Through this situation, we try to overcome the difficulties, follow our deadlines and achieve our goals.

We all hope to return to our labs soon, being safe and with more Rocket Science.

AcubeSAT members participate in the ESA FYS3 CDR workshop where critical points of the design review are to be discussed with experts of the field. This is a major point in the feedback process of Phase C of Fly Your Satellite! Programme, since the nanosatellite design finalisation comes in a few months. For AcubeSAT to move forward with manufacturing and finally launch, any major issues or flaws in the design procedure must be handled in time.

The members of ASAT-Rocketry are excited to announce for the year of 2020-2021, the new project Selene, with which aim to participate and compete at the Spaceport America Cup (S.A.C.).

The name’s origin comes from the Greek mythology where Selene was the daughter of Hyperion, which is our first rocket. Selene is the third High Power Rocket of our team and aims to fly in an apogee of 10000ft A.G.L. (Above Ground Level) using a COTS M-class motor. This year's mission is highlighted by the addition of a functional payload which goal is to tally up the dose of radioactivity in the troposphere. To complete its mission, the payload is deployed and recovered by its own parachute.

Selene is born and the best are yet to come!
