
Rocketry Project
Sub-team Summary:
The Propulsion sub-team is responsible for designing, manufacturing and testing the rocket motors. Currently, the sub-team develops solid rocket motors that must be reusable, must have consistent performance and launch the rocket safely to the targeted altitude.
Position Description:
A Propellant Scientist will be expected to perform:
- Manufacturing of solid propellants
- Experimental and theoretical study on propellant combustion
- Research on new propellants and manufacturing methods
- Research on testing methods
- Data processing from rocket motor static tests
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of the basic principles of chemistry, physical chemistry, thermodynamics, thermochemistry, statistics
- Hands-on experience in chemistry laboratory
- Familiarity with laboratory safety rules
- Experience with mechanical tools and materials
- Ability to provide practical and reliable design solutions
- Excellent organizational and communicational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
