Sub-team Summary:
The Recovery sub-team is responsible for designing and manufacturing the parachutes as well as the ejection mechanisms for their release in order to safely recover the rocket.
Position Description:
A Recovery Engineer is responsible for:
- Thorough research on recovery systems and rocket science in general
- Analysis and optimization in the design of parachutes
- Ground testing of the ejection mechanisms for the deployment of the parachute
- Cooperate with the rest of the sub-teams for the design and manufacturing of the ejections mechanisms
- Cooperate with the rest of the sub-teams for the development of the electronic signal that ignites the ejection mechanisms
Preferred skills:
- Knowledge of Fluid Mechanics
- Familiarity with CAD software (Solidworks)
- Familiarity with CFD software (ANSYS CFX, Fluent)
- Experience with mechanical tools
- Ability to provide practical and reliable design solutions
- Excellent organizational and communicational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
